The proprietors of land with in the
Liberty of Taddington and Priestcliff did agree to porches apiece of land
of Mr Elias Needem assenees [?] apiece of land called
Priestcliff nether leese with alarge Prenteshouse erected thereon
Likewise apies of land in the Liberty of Litton with nine houses
erected there on likewise thay did apoint six persons to see about that
purches namely Wm Bagshaw Matthey Roberts Joseph Bradock Richard White
Wm Makinson and Robert Wright and there was abond sined by the
proprietors that if nine tents dothe sine they are to purchase or else
not nine tents did not sign but thay purchased likewise thay have
borrowed two hundred pounds contrary to Bond sined and have gathered of
the proprietors nearly thirteen hundred pounds neaver gave any a count
how that money waslaid out nor one penney of the profits nor intrist
money a rising from that large sum a cording to Bond signed there was
fifty pound bidden for the meterels of the Prentes hous but would not
take it thay have puled all down taken and sould all the meteriels
never gave any a count forthem Hit is said by good authority that one
of those a fore said six men called[?] trust have nearly a hundred
pounds of the proprietors money in hand the Chappel wardings they have
given [?]..ties in the Church several times to make there accounts but
never would make anney Hit is desired that astatement should be made
and shone to some of the largest proprietors which have signed the Bond
then for astatement to go into Chesterfield News paper and to call
ameeting to be held at Bakewell and to have an attorney to consider
whether the Bond sined have been carried on in alegal and an honest way
